How to promote cultural transformation and Diversity & Inclusion?

In this people-oriented organization, ISS attaches great importance to a high degree of diversity and inclusion, and continue to work hard for a better future. Conducting transformation doesn't happen overnight, while ISS is committed to engaging in challenging conversations, advocating for equal rights for minorities, and striving to achieve equality for every people.

Today, the facility management industry has developed in China for more than 30 years. In China, the market share of FM industry is as high as 150 billion US dollars (about 950 billion RMB), but the industry structure is very fragmented. Compared with many developed countries, China market still needs time to develop.

 

Ms Cindy Wang, CEO of ISS China, has shared three goals when she joined in ISS:

1. To build ISS China into a truly Chinese global company, in line with international standards, with Chinese soul;

2. To bring different perspectives and values to the company, and bring real changes and progress to the company and employees;

3. To work with my colleagues to promote the development and maturity of China's facility management industry.

A great difference between ISS China and many competitors is that it adheres to the service model of self-delivery, which means that the entire company, from front-line employees to CEOs, are all ISS employees. One of our missions is to support hundreds of employees and make their lives better by providing them with good job opportunities and growth opportunities.

There are countless examples in ISS China. Front-line employees are gradually promoted from cleaners and repairers to key account managers and senior engineers, through their own efforts. We take pride in our employees: this is one of our most cherished corporate values.

In the past 3 years, ISS China has taken many actions to actively promote the improvement of DIB (Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging). As so far, ISS China have employees from 11 countries, female managers account for 63% of all management positions, and female leaders account for 27% of the national leadership team. ISS China also recruited many young talents as fresh blood for the company.

At present, ISS A/S is also actively promoting multicultural transformation. Today, the group has 6 female national CEOs around the world; and has reached the standard of 40% gender balance of board members by 2020. In the future, ISS A/S aims to achieve a 40% gender parity standard in all management positions by 2025.
