ISS creates an outstanding catering experience on campus

Every day, ISS provides 430 students and staff with Chinese and Western fusion dishes, which are delicious and healthy, at a school in Shenzhen. Also, our team provides catering support for school banquets, parent-teacher meetings, and other activities. ISS strives to create a pleasant and creative campus dining experience, to help shape an enjoyable and healthy lifestyle for all.

In China, more and more schools choose reputable and experienced catering service partner to provide healthy and tasty food for their students and staff.

There are normally three models for schools to manage catering services, namely:
1. School runs its own canteen and is responsible for the daily management and operation.
2. School owns a canteen but outsources the service to a professional catering company, who is responsible for the set-up, operation, and management. The third-party partner is usually a well-known company or selected through an open bidding process.
3. School does not own a canteen but outsources its catering needs to a third-party company that delivers food directly to school. 

On a Shenzhen campus, ISS provides 430 students and staff with delicious and healthy fusion dishes every day. Under the leadership of an innovative head chef, we strive to create a casual, enjoyable, and inspiring campus dining experience. In addition, our team also provides catering support for school banquets, parent-teacher meetings, and other activities. 

Since it go-live in early 2021, ISS always put food safety in the first place and created a healthy dining environment and experience for students and teachers with advanced management systems. Meanwhile, ISS contributes to environmental protection from using degradable disposable products to monitoring daily food inventory.
Education

ISS, which provides catering services to our school, is an excellent partner, weather it is from communication or their dedication on campus. They are open to feedback on service quality and efficiency, for which I am truly grateful. In addition to preparing a weekly menu for parents reviewing, the team has also provided several cooking workshops. Currently, we are discussion on how to educate food waste and dietary nutrition to students.

Create an intelligent kitchen management and control system

To continuously improve the catering quality, ISS adopts a leading kitchen food safety management system to strictly control the procurement, inventory and personnel, further strengthening food safety and risk management on campus:
1. Use paperless management to have real-time forewarning on food shelf life, price fluctuations, insufficient inventory, etc.
2. Use AI recognition technology to give forewarning on inappropriate operations
3. Use information technology, to build an integrated platform for supervision, and automatically generate dashboards based on intelligent statistical analysis of collected data.

Provide an immersive home-school interactive experience

Besides collecting feedbacks from parents through regular satisfaction surveys, ISS cooperated with school and launched a new home-school interaction activity - Cooking Class for Parents. They invited parents to the kitchen and to make favorite dishes for students together, guided by the chef. There were 4 classes being held in a semester and was super popular among parents when the event was open to registration.
