This year marks the 20th year since ISS entered the Chinese market. Over the past twenty years, we have witnessed the vigorous development of the Chinese market, as well as the growth and transformation of generation after generation of ISS employees.
At ISS, what makes us particularly proud is that 20 employees have accompanied us all the way since the company entered China in 2005, and the number of employees with over 10 years of service is approaching 500. This stability and persistence represent trust, and even more so, a profound responsibility.
On the occasion of this 20th anniversary, we have collected the growth stories of some frontline and operational colleagues, to feel the extraordinary stories of growth written by employees in ordinary positions.
1. Zhang Lei | Crossing domains from Security Guard to Engineering Supervisor
Four years ago, I was still at the guard post verifying visitor information; today, as a supervisor, I explain equipment inspection requirements to newcomers. When I joined, I actually just loved figuring out equipment. The company encouraged certification, and I obtained my electrician and air conditioning certificates. In recent years, when taking the high-voltage electrician certificate, the company reimbursed my night school tuition; when learning equipment operation and maintenance, my old supervisor gave me his most treasured troubleshooting manual; after leading a team, the manager always said let's hear what he has to say first. From a security guard to an engineering supervisor, what ISS supports is not just my certificates and positions, but a path that every employee who wants to grow can see.
2. Huang Yaoying | The Transformation of a Cleaning Supervisor
I am an ordinary woman from the countryside in Zhejiang, and joining ISS in March 2018 was the luckiest thing in my career. I had cleaning experience before, but when I first arrived at ISS, the high standards and detailed requirements of international clients still made me very unaccustomed. Fortunately, the leaders and colleagues didn't let me shoulder it alone; they guided me step by step and helped me adapt. Today, I have become a competent professional, leading a small team of 9 people to handle various high-standard service sites. Here, I not only learned professional skills but also understood better what responsibility means and what a team is.
3. Wang Yuxi | From Security Guard to Security Captain
Nine years have passed, and I have grown from a newcomer into a competent security captain. When I first joined, I was the rookie in the team, unfamiliar with the processes. The leader patted me on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, run the site more often." He always said that for client needs, one must "listen more, note down more, try more." When facing urgent tasks, the leader would say, "You go, I trust you"; when making mistakes, he would be forgiving and say, "Pay attention next time." Over these nine years, I have matured from a young man in his early twenties into " Lao Wang" in his mid-thirties, and the two words I want to say most are "thank you."
4. Gao Rui | From Workplace Novice to Taking Root in Shanghai
I joined ISS right after graduating from university, and this year is my third year. My home is far away in Chongqing; after coming to Shanghai upon graduation, I interviewed with many companies and even got scammed out of money. It was ISS that chose me, allowing me to stay in Shanghai. Just after joining, I participated in the preparation of a Family Day event for a thousand people, ensuring success through close cooperation with the team; this was the first time I deeply felt the power of a team. Over these 3 years, I have learned a lot; whenever there's something I don't know, I can ask my buddies or leaders, and they are always willing to answer and provide help, because everyone's goal is the same, which is to strive to do a good job.
5. An Qi | Promoted to Administrative Supervisor After One Year of Joining
I joined ISS in early 2022. Not long after joining, I encountered the client's relocation from an old factory to a new one, and every colleague was over-contributing. Project Manager Zhang stood at the very front line of our work, independently bearing the pressure from the client, and even with more gray hair, still cared about our status. Cleaning Supervisor Gu and her team would also help prepare for meetings and clear trash when the administrative team was overwhelmed, leaving us with a tidy venue. The tacit understanding of a team without boundaries became the warmest support. After a full year of employment, I was promoted to administrative supervisor, knowing deeply that it is this collective strength that allowed me to grow steadily.
6. Wu Lilong | The Solid Backing of a Project Manager
I joined the company in October 2024, and what remains fresh in my memory is that when I first entered the client site, there were supporting colleagues, the Regional Manager, and the Key Account Director personally present at the project front line. They not only customized professional training for me but also personally introduced me to key clients, helping me integrate quickly. During project advancement, especially at key monthly milestones, leaders always lent a timely hand; every piece of guidance allowed me to convey value more accurately in communications and appear more professionally confident when serving clients. This powerful support throughout is continuously transforming into my momentum to serve clients and create value, allowing me to move from initial exploration to moving forward steadily today.

These stories are a few drops reflecting the growth of nearly 10,000 ISS China employees. Twenty years is a testament to ISS's deep cultivation in China, and a journey for many employees to find their direction and realize their value here.
